Erica Amon (CMInstD)

Erica has over 20 years’ experience working in a variety of roles in the health care sector. She holds both a bachelor and master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Otago and is currently Regional Operations Manager for Healthcare of New Zealand, the country’s largest provider of community-based health services and residential disability services.

Tony Begbie (CMInstD)

Tony is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors, with over 15 years’ experience in financial services, with regional and national roles across the Agribusiness, Small Business Franchising and Retail. Tony has also been involved in the events industry and property investment for over a decade. He holds a B Agri Sci and is a Licenced (REAA 2008) Business Broker. Tony has completed the IoD Regional Development Program, Companies Directors Course and various other professional governance courses. Tony’s strengths include leadership, strategic thinking, business development, project oversight, financial and risk management. He is past Chairman of The Mirage Apartments – Auckland, President of the Waikato Chamber of Commerce, President of Waikato Property Investors Association, and Director of NZ National Fieldays Society.

Mark Brown (MInstD)

Mark has 20 years’ experience in the health and disability sector. During this time he has taken on senior management roles in several not-for-profit agencies, in a private company, and in government funders. He is currently CEO of Life Unlimited, a locally based regional and national provider of disability support services. Mark has completed the Institute of Director’s Company Directors programme and this, combined with his breadth of experience across the funder and provider aspects of health and social services, enables him to bring critical thinking and awareness regarding effective human service delivery within sustainable business models to board tables. Mark’s interest is in capacity building and transformation towards new models of organisation and thinking about service delivery.

Grant Coombes (MInstD)

Grant brings a wealth of business growth experience within the agriculture sector to his governance roles, having grown his start-up dairy business into a large multi-farm operation. He specialises in dairy and dairy support. Grant has completed the Institute of Directors’ Chairing the Board course (2014), Fonterra Governance Development Programme (2014), IoD/DairyNZ Governance workshop, IoD financial toolbox and Coach Approach Navigational Coaching (2010). Grant has strong coaching skills that add value to directing people, extracting information, problem solving and finding resolution.

Michael Crawford (MInstD)

Michael has diverse experience in business and not-for-profits. He is experienced in CFO, GM, and CEO roles encompassing due diligence, start-up, crisis management, business turn-around, effective strategy, implementation of effective governance, international trade, and in sectors including banking, dairy, retail, distribution, property, Iwi, health and IT. He has added in-depth formal governance training including: Post Graduate Certificate in Governance, the Institute of Directors Company Directors Course and the Governance Development Program, to his professional qualifications of BCOM, LLB, Chartered Accountant and Enrolled Barrister and Solicitor.

Michael is forward looking and perceptive and puts a high value on teamwork, integrity, high quality decisions based on insightful analysis, and being financially realistic. His strengths include finance, information technology, strategy, and risk, along with health and safety and legal compliance.

Malcolm Jensen (MInstD)

Malcolm has extensive experience in both the commercial, not for profit and education sectors, and business ownership, across range of industries including distribution, manufacturing, contracting and construction and professional services.  With experience as a business advisor, coach and mentor, Malcolm offers a clear understanding of the challenges faced by organisations and the knowledge and experience required to improve their performance.

Raewyn Kirkman (MInstD)

Raewyn Kirkman has been in governance roles in the not for profit sector for over 20 years.  She is currently a trustee with Waikato Community Hospice Trust, a director of Manawanui in Charge Ltd (a charitable company operating in the disability sector), and trustee of Hamilton Multicultural Services Trust.  Until recently was the Chair of Sport Waikato for four years and served on that trust for eleven years. Raewyn brings to a board table some 35 years’ experience in human resources, employment relations and learning and development, built up in tertiary education, manufacturing, dairy and health services sectors. She has held numerous leadership roles in community organisations – in particular Rotary, which has allowed her to strengthen her strategic and leadership capabilities. Raewyn is a member of the Institute of Directors and committed to professional development in governance.

Sarah Morton-Johnson (MInstD)

Sarah has over a decade of governance experience within the not-for-profit sector. A seasoned human resources professional, with experience that spans the resources, manufacturing and services sectors, Sarah brings a unique skillset to the board table that blends a practical understanding of people issues with clear vision, organisational expertise, and a focus on effectiveness and accountability. Sarah is committed to adding value and building capability for the organisations she works with, including being ‘hands on’ when required. Not afraid to ask questions, test assumptions, or to ‘crunch the numbers’, Sarah offers integrity, robust thinking, and a fresh perspective.

Janette Osborne (MInstD)

Janette has over 20 years’ experience as a management accountant across a wide range of corporate and government roles in both Wellington and Christchurch.  She holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Management and Accounting and is a CA member of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand.  She has been a member of the Institute of Directors since 2008.  Janette is also actively involved in the family sheep and beef farm, has established her own wool related small business and has held a number of industry good positions in the past including

She is currently a regional councillor on the Beef + Lamb Mid-Northern North Island Farmers Council and has recently completed the Beef + Lamb professional development programme.  Janette is a Trustee on the Waitomo Energy Services Customer Trust and a Director of Primary Wool Co-operative Ltd.

Janette is a strong believer in continuing professional development and dedicates considerable time to expanding her knowledge.

Janette’s strengths lie in her wide-ranging experience and being able to unravel and analyse the detail in a strategic context.  She has a particular interest in strategy, organisational culture and leadership.

Sarah Pratt (MInstD)

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Wintec, a Postgraduate Diploma in Governance and an MBA from the University of Waikato. With over 15 years of governance experience, Sarah brings a diverse range of knowledge and skills to commercial and clinical health management. As a business owner Sarah understands the challenges faced by small-to-medium sized businesses and how good governance plays a critical part in business success. Sarah’s governance strengths are strategy, driving growth, risk identification and succession planning.

Aaron Rink (CMInstD)

Aaron is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors with over 15 years governance experience in both executive and non-executive positions.  Aaron currently serves as a member of the Wintec the council – The Waikato Institute of Technology’s governing board and is both an Independent director and Chairman of Code Blue Hamilton, AgFirst Waikato and Waikato Security Services.

Aaron has walked the talk by appointing two independent directors to his family-owned business C F Reese Plumbing and has implemented a succession plan allowing him to step away from the day to day management. He has first-hand experience in understanding what it takes to implement a board in a privately owned business and how good governance benefits an organisation.

As an experienced owner / manager and director Aaron is adept at identifying the opportunities available to an organisation and driving performance whilst navigating business risks and challenges.

Now working as a professional, independent director, Aaron specialises in helping organisations establish their own first board.

Carl Rohrbeck (MInstD)

Carl is a Senior Executive with more than 30 years international experience in Government and the Private Sector with a broad range of professional expertise in Governance as a Director and Business Owner, coupled with Executive Management experience in the construction, manufacturing, commercial, civil and agricultural industries. In addition he has over 18 years of extensive Health & Safety and Quality control experience, which has been fundamental to the industries he worked in. He has experience in start-up ventures in several industry sectors and a good understanding with solid track record of risk identification and management and the governance required for the ventures to succeed.

Carl holds an MBA from the University of Waikato and has completed the Institute of Directors’ Company Directors Course. He is currently is a shareholder, manager and director of varying entities within different industry sectors and has the ability to draw on his experience and knowledge to suit. He operates with integrity and honesty and has a high level of work ethic with the ability to think outside the square, being accountable and holding others to account.

Ken Williamson (CFInstD)

Ken is a seasoned governance professional who is passionate about the value a board can add, based on his own experience with the insurance brokerage firm he was part of establishing.  Together with current directorships of several commercial businesses, Ken has extensive experience in governance of community organisations including sporting, educational and service agencies, spanning several decades. Ken has established extraordinary strong networks in business, political, Iwi and community sectors and uses these relationships and linkages to add value to the boards he serves on.
